2019 country production in first quarter

South Africa's steel production fell 0.1% to 1.59 million tons in the first quarter, while Egypt's steel production increased by 10.3% to 2.1 million tons.

Asia produced 312.9 million tons of crude steel in the first three months of this year, an increase of 7% from the first quarter of 2018.

The EU produced 42.3 million tons of crude steel, down 2% year-on-year.

Crude steel production in the first three months of North America increased by 4% year-on-year to 30.7 million tons.

In the first quarter of 2019, crude steel production in 64 countries reached 155 million tons in March, an increase of 4.9% from March 2018.

1. China's crude steel output in March was 80.3 million tons, up 10% from March 2018.
2. India’s 9.4 million tons of crude steel produced in March was down 1% from March 2018.
3. South Africa's steel production in March is estimated at 540,000 tons, an increase of 3.1% from March 2018.
4. Egypt's crude steel output in March was 700,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.7%.
5. Japan produced 9.1 million tons of crude steel in March, which is the same as crude steel produced in March 2018.
6. South Korea's crude steel output in March reached 6.3 million tons, an increase of 2.8%.
7. Italy's crude steel output in March 2019 was 2.3 million tons, down 0.3% year-on-year.
8. France's crude steel output was 1.4 million tons, up 2.3% year-on-year.
9. Spain also produced 1.4 million tons of crude steel in March, a year-on-year increase of 5.9%.
10. US crude steel production was 7.8 million tons, up 5.7% year-on-year.
11. Ukrainian crude steel production reached 2 million tons, an increase of 15%.
12. Brazil's crude steel output in March was 2.8 million tons, down 8.6%.
13. Turkey's crude steel output fell by 11.7% year-on-year to 3 million tons.
